Pressure Maps

The following is factual data proving the efficacy of Aquila’s cushion systems.

Pressure Mapping gives an exact visual representation of the degree of pressure relief achieved by a particular cushion.  If the interface pressure is low enough, the skin and tissue will receive adequate blood flow and pressure sores can be avoided.  If the pressure is too high, even for a very short period of time per the Koziak study, you are at risk of developing a sore.

The degree of pressure needed to achieve true pressure relief is 30 mmHg.  A pressure less than 30 is even better. 

Below are actual pressure maps taken while patients were sitting on Aquila cushions.  

We let the pressure maps speak for themselves.

(Pressure maps are not needed to build an Aquila cushion system.)

• When custom making this cushion, the left ischial cell was isolated such that it applies no upward pressure to the existing sore.
